Some statistics about our energy usage......

	The Climate Change Act 2008 set legally binding emission reduction targets for 2020 (reduction of 34 percent in greenhouse gas emissions) and for 2050 (a reduction of at least 80 percent in greenhouse gas emissions), and introduced five-yearly carbon budgets to help ensure those targets are met....
	UK consumers are the worst energy wasters in Europe with around £5 billion wasted on unnecessary electricity every year. If trends continue this could rise to £11 billion by 2010.

	72% of children aged 16 and under regularly leave their lights on, whilst almost two thirds always leave PCs, TVs and stereos on standby.
	The average household produces around 6 tonnes of CO2 per year - twice as much as the average car produces or six times the amount of rubbish a household throws away every year.
	Household lighting is responsible for up to 15% of the total electricity bill, whilst leaving items on standby accounts for another 10%.
	An average family can save up to 150Kg of CO2 per year by turning off unnecessary power-hungry devices and making their homes more energy efficient.
